Sindhu Menon biography
Sindhu Menon was born in Bangalore to a Keralite family. And she is grown up as a Bangalorean. Sindhu Menon created a niche for herself in Kannada film industry despite of tough competition among young actresses. She entered Kannada filmdom as child actress though it was highly unexpected she says. Sindhu Menon has more than 25 Kannada films in her credit.

Sindhu Menon is a Bharathnatyam dancer since from her childhood and during school days she used to participate in dance competitions. In one such competition where 25 other schools took part, she got the 1st prize. One of the judges there, noticed the inherent talent and introduced her to a Kannada film.

Bharatnatyam(also spelled Bharathanatyam, Bharatnatyam or Bharata Natyam), as Balasaraswati puts it, is an artistic yoga (natya yoga), for revealing the spiritual through the corporeal. It is the most widely practised of Indian classical dances in South India, and has its origin in Tamil Nadu. It is the most ancient of all the classical dance forms in India, which are based on Natya Shastra, the Bible of the classical Indian dance. The term "Bharatnatyam" was introduced in the mid-thirties by E. Krishna Iyer and later spread by Rukminidevi Arundale, and is thought to derive from the four syllables, BHAva(expression)RAga (music)TAla(rhythm) NATYAM(dramatic art).

Bharatanatyam is thought to have been created by Bharata Muni, a Hindu sage, who wrote the Natya Shastra, the most important ancient treatise on classical Indian dance. It is also called the fifth Veda in reference to the foundation of Hindu religion and philosophy, from which sprang the related South Indian musical tradition of Carnatic music. However, there are references to Rishi Agastya teaching his disciples a different form of sacred dance than the one taught by Bharata Muni.

In ancient times it was performed as dasiattam by mandir (Hindu temple) Devadasis. Many of the ancient sculptures in Hindu temples are based on Bharata Natyam dance postures. In fact, it is the celestial dancers, apsarases, who are depicted in many scriptures dancing the heavenly version of what is known on earth as Bharatanatyam.

Sindhu Menon acted in other South Indian languages including Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. Film Huliya where she acted as a child actress received a lot of appreciation. She baged Tamilnadu and Telugu Academy award for Telugu film 'Trinetra'.

Sindhu Menon has many offers from Malayalam Move industry. She is acting opposite Prithiraj in Vasthavm. She hope to complete her studies once she finish this movie.
